Destackification Theorem of Daniel Bergh

Speaker: Valery Lunts, Indiana University Bloomington

Location: Warren Weaver Hall 201

Date: Tuesday, April 12, 2016, 3:30 p.m.

Synopsis:

The destackification theorem is a remarkable recent result in birational geometry, which in particular gives a weak factorization theorem for orbifolds. I will discuss some other applications, such as geometricity of derived categories of smooth Deligne-Mumford stacks and a proof of the Galkin-Shinder conjecture on the categorical zeta function.
