This is a survey talk on volumetric inequalities and contact graphs of totally separable translative packings of a given convex body in Euclidean $d$-space. Here a packing is called totally separable if for any two packing elements there exists a hyperplane that separates them and is disjoint from the interiors of all packing elements.
