Modeling of brain tumor therapies and tumor stem cell initiation
Department of Mathematics
College of William and Mary
Mathematics is playing important roles in biological and biomedical research.
In this talk, I will illustrate that mathematics can be a effective tool to improve our understanding of biomedical
processes and help to develop more effective treatment plans. As showcases, I will talk about mathematical modeling
for glioma virotherapy and for traditional therapies of glioblastoma, and how computational and mathematical analysis
can help to find answers to specific medical problems.
I will also mention that mathematical models can be used to study tumor stem cell initiation.
