Algebraic Geometry Seminar

Chow Groups with Coefficients for Some Twisted Homogeneous Varieties

Speaker: Patrick McFaddin, University of South Carolina

Location: Warren Weaver Hall 201

Date: Tuesday, March 28, 2017, 3:30 p.m.

Synopsis:

The study of algebraic cycles on homogeneous varieties has proved to be a useful tool in arithmetic and algebraic geometry, with applications in algebraic K-theory, motivic cohomology, and the rationality question for algebraic groups. Notable results include the Merkurjev-Suslin Theorem and the Rost-Voevodsky Theorem (Bloch-Kato Conjecture). In this talk, I will discuss some recent progress in computing groups of K1-zero-cycles for homogeneous varieties of types An and Cn.
