About Us

The purpose of AWM chapters is to support and increase the visibility of its members: individuals of historically marginalized genders in the mathematical sciences, including but not limited to women, gender nonconforming, transgender, and nonbinary people. These chapters further serve to provide a space to build relationships between members are all career stages.

The NYU AWM community welcomes all, and each semester hosts various events, including but not limited to Tea Talks (short informal research talk sessions), social hours (coffee breaks, picnics, happy hours, etc.), and cultural events (e.g. documentary screenings).

If you would like to be notified of our events via email, you may sign up for the graduate email list or the postgraduate email list. You will need to be logged in with your NYU NetID to join. Those interested in being involved from an organizational standpoint are encouraged to contact the chapter organizers at Courant-GradPostgradAWM-Organizers [at] nyu [dot] edu.
