Dynamic Similarity: An Antarctic Ice Shelf and a French Turntable

Synopsis:

The study of the interaction of the great ice sheets with the world ocean offers significant challenges in theoretical, computational, and observational science. A brief review of recent advances and outstanding problems is given. In this talk, a particular emphasis is placed on a new potential direction for learning in this field: laboratory analog experiments.
