Graduate Student / Postdoc Seminar
Acoustic and electromagnetic modeling and simulation
Speaker: Mike O'Neil, Courant Institute, New York University
Location: Warren Weaver Hall 1302
Date: Friday, April 4, 2025, 1 p.m.
Synopsis:
The equations governing acoustic and electromagnetic scattering accurately govern a wide variety of important physical phenomena. The models provide such a good approximation to the physical phenomena that solving them fast and accurately can lead to cheaper, more efficient processes for engineering design. In this talk I'll give an overview of various problems occurring in the field, as well as modern numerical methods that can provide robust solutions.
