Shock formation and vanishing viscosity

Synopsis:

In this talk I will discuss basics of shock formation in burgers equation and systems of conservation laws in 1D (time permitting higher D as well). Then I’ll discuss the problem of vanishing viscosity in the presence of shock formation.
