Algebraic Geometry Seminar
Fano Varieties and Laurent Polynomials
Speaker: Viktor Przyjalkovski, Steklov Institute of Mathematics
Location: Warren Weaver Hall 201
Date: Tuesday, February 24, 2015, 3:30 p.m.
Synopsis:
Mirror symmetry relates Fano varieties to dual objects called Landau-Ginzburg models. From the point of view we discuss in the talk these objects are just Laurent polynomials. These Laurent polynomials remember a lot of birational and biregular invariants of the Fano varieties. We discuss approaches to constructing dual Laurent polynomials for different classes of Fano varieties and to reconstructing some of the invariants of the initial Fano varieties.
