Mostly Biomathematics Lunchtime Seminar
Histopathology and Omics Data Integration Using Spatial Point Processes
Speaker: Kasthuri Kannan, Department of Pathology, New York University School of Medicine
Location: Warren Weaver Hall 1314
Date: Tuesday, September 24, 2019, 12:30 p.m.
Synopsis:
Spatial point processes are powerful mathematical frameworks for studying point patterns in two dimensions. Although point processes have been frequently used in deriving statistical inferences in epidemiology and ecology, its application to histopathology is missing. In this talk, we will focus on how spatial point processes can be a dominant paradigm for integrating Omics data with histopathology images. Also, as a case study, we will spotlight how these processes can be applied in tumor biology by taking Glioblastoma Multiforme as an example.
