On Conformally Invariant Nonlinear Elliptic Equations

Speaker: Yanyan Li, Rutgers

Location: Warren Weaver Hall 1302

Date: Tuesday, October 7, 2025, 11 a.m.

Synopsis:

Liouville-type theorems play a fundamental role in the study of nonlinear partial differential equations.
In this talk, I will present necessary and sufficient conditions for the validity of such theorems in the setting of fully nonlinear, conformally invariant equations.  A key step is a refined understanding of the behavior of solutions near isolated singularities. In particular, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for the removability of isolated singularities of viscosity super- and subsolutions.    This is joint work with Baozhi Chu and Zongyuan Li.
