Mass Comparison Theorems for ALF Manifolds

Synopsis:

The positive mass theorem fails for ALF manifolds. We will discuss conditions under which it holds, and will provide a refined lower bound in terms of bundle degree in the presence of a U(1) symmetry. In the toric case, we describe mass comparison results with ALE and ALF gravitational instantons.
