Speaker: David M. Rowe, President of David M. Rowe Risk Advisory
Location: Warren Weaver Hall 1302
Date: Tuesday, October 29, 2019, 5:30 p.m.
Synopsis:
As memories of the Global Financial Crisis begin to fade, it is time to look back and ask
whether we have learned the lessons of that painful period. As Alan Greenspan says in a
cover endorsement of David Rowe's recent book, “it is a timely reminder of the need to
expand risk management beyond purely technical analysis to broader consideration of
social, organizational, political and technological issues.”
Dr. Rowe will highlight half a dozen lessons he believes are essential for risk managers
to embrace as they grapple with a world seemingly fraught with sources of systemic risk.
