Mathematics in the Age of AI
Courant Institute cross-departmental seminar focused on the interactions between AI and mathematics, computing and data science.
Statement and Goals
AI is signaling a profound change across all disciplines represented in our School, and mathematics in particular is witnessing this change on an accelerated timescale. This seminar series aims to be a forum to discuss and analyze these changes.
Our goal is to host talks that cover several aspects of this new age, including
- The mathematical substance of new results obtained with the help of AI, including how AI was used in the process.
- High-level visions of how AI might reshape the discipline.
- AI methodology and (auto)formalization.
We also plan to host panels, debates and town hall events, to capture our community’s diverse reactions to these developments.
Location and time
WWH 109, Wednesdays at 3.30pm.
