The Hydrodynamic Limit of Interacting Particle Models on Lattices
Speaker: Anya Katsevich, CIMS
Location: Warren Weaver Hall 517
Date: Monday, November 8, 2021, 11:30 a.m.
Synopsis:
In this talk I will outline the entropy production proof technique in hydrodynamic limit convergence arguments. I will first explain the concept of a hydrodynamic limit by going over the example of the symmetric exclusion process, which converges in the hydrodynamic limit to the heat equation. I will then focus on the convergence proof for the asymmetric exclusion process, for which the entropy production argument comes into play. Time permitting, I will discuss the crystal surface model, the subject of my current research.
