Speaker: Tristan Buckmaster, University of Maryland

Location: Warren Weaver Hall 1302

Date: Thursday, October 20, 2022, 11 a.m.

Synopsis:

In this talk, I will outline a broad strategy towards tackling one of the most fundamental problems in mathematical hydrodynamics: singularity formation. The strategy employs self-similar analysis, computer assisted proofs and physics-informed neural networks.

Collaborators mentioned in this talk include: Gonzalo Cao-Labora, Javier Gómez-Serrano, Ching-Yao Lai, Steve Shkoller, Vlad Vicol and Yongji Wang.
