Some canonical metrics in complex geometry

Synopsis:

We begin by discussing the existence of canonical metrics in the K\"ahler setting. From there, we move into covering some generalizations of these notions of canonical metrics in the Hermitian and almost-Hermitian settings, and detail some of the additional challenges that arise from relaxing the K\"ahler condition.
