Synopsis:
The metal-insulator phase transition has been extensively studied for many random operators, for example the Anderson model. Conjecturally, localized eigenstates occur together with Poisson eigenvalues statistics, while the GOE point process appears in the delocalized phase. Although the localized regime is relatively well understood, almost nothing is known in the delocalized case for non mean-field models. I will introduce this problem for random band matrices.
