The Spectra of Non-Hermitian Random Matrices

Synopsis:

The relation between singular values and spectrum for matrices is a complicated one. In the context of random matrices, it was recently elucidated for "nices matrices". I will describe the result and discuss some stability (and non-stability) of spectra under random peturbations.
