Values at integers of integral cubic polynomials in three variables

Synopsis:
Very little is known about the values (with multiplicities) assumed by an irreducible cubic polynomial in three variables, or about the closely related diophantine geometry of log K_3 surfaces .We describe some conditional results and tools that have been developed to understand a special class of such polynomials.
