Singularities in Geometry, Topology and Strings

Synopsis:

I will discuss a Brieskorn-Grothendieck program involving certain singularities and Lie algebras. These singularities arise in many different areas of mathematics and physics, some were also studied by Arnold. I will focus on the case of complex 3 dimensional spaces relating to topology and physics.
