Random Dynamics and the Stochastic Heat Equation on the Half-Line

Speaker: Douglas Dow, CIMS

Location: Warren Weaver Hall 1314

Date: Monday, March 3, 2025, 11 a.m.

Synopsis:

In this talk I will discuss some dynamical properties of the stochastic heat equation with forcing on the half-line. The motivations for the main ideas will be from both infinite volume polymer measures and the phenomenology of the classical heat equation on the half-line. Specifically, we will look at the SPDE

\(u = \Delta u + f(x,u) + dW\)

as a random dynamical system on the space of functions and consider a one force, one solution principle.
