Algebraic Geometry Seminar

Division Polynomials and Intersection of Projective Torsion Points

Speaker: Hang Fu, Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences

Location: Warren Weaver Hall 201

Date: Tuesday, April 26, 2016, 3:30 p.m.

Synopsis:

Given two elliptic curves, to each there is associated a quotient map that identifies opposite elements. I will present some results about the intersection of their corresponding projective torsion points. The division polynomials and Jordan's totient function will also be discussed. This is a joint work with Fedor Bogomolov.
