Invariant KAM tori around annular vortex patches for 2D Euler equations

Speaker: Zineb Hassainia, NYU Abu Dhabi

Location: Warren Weaver Hall 1302

Date: Tuesday, May 9, 2023, 1 p.m.

Synopsis:

In this talk, I will discuss a recent result concerning the construction of quasi-periodic vortex patch solutions  with one hole for the 2D-Euler equations. These structures exist close to any annulus provided that its modulus belongs to a Cantor set with almost full Lebesgue measure. The proof is based on  a KAM reducibility scheme and a Nash-Moser iterative scheme. This is a joint work with Taoufik Hmidi and Emeric Roulley.
